Pinchos Tapas Bar and Restaurant - Chelmsford

Pinchos is a Tapas Bar and Restaurant located in Chelmsford's town centre amidst other similar multi-cultural restaurants. The building in which Pinchos is situated was originally constructed by the Council as a public convenience.  About 25 years ago this was converted into a ladies hairdressing salon and remained so up until our clients decided to take over the lease from the Council and convert it into a Tapas Bar and Restaurant.

The client instructed DCA to design the new restaurant on ground and lower ground with new kitchen, toilets and seating etc.

The original building was designed with toilets and lower ground and ground being raised about 1m above the street level with a short flight of stairs leading from the entrance.

DCA was commissioned to obtain statutory consents and to monitor the clients own contractor during the progress of work on site.  Difficulty was encountered with disabled access requirements and were overcome by redesign of the construction at the entrance.
